The largest Oktoberfest east of Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario , takes place on the last weekend in September, each year with over 3,000 partygoers traveling to Tatamagouche, to attend the North Shore Bavarian Society Oktoberfest. The event will celebrate it's 35th anniversary in 2014.

The event includes a Beer Garden on Saturday afternoon plus a dance on Friday and Saturday evenings. Top notch German bands play endlessly at the three functions.

The concession booths include Canadian and German cuisine, such as sausages, schnitzel, lobster roll and delicate cheesecakes. A variety of souvenirs are available including, beer steins, T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, pins and other novelty items. Many beverages are available from Domestic and German beers to local wines and Imported spirits, and the infamous Schnapps Bar, soft drinks and coffees are also available.
