The largest Oktoberfest east of Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario takes place on the last full weekend of September each year with over 3,000 party goers travelling to Tatamagouche, to attend the North Shore Bavarian Society's Oktoberfest. The event will celebrate its 37th anniversary in 2015.
The event includes; Friday night beer garden 6:00 pm to 11:00 , $5.00 cover charge, featuring a local band and two German bands, Saturday afternoon doors open at 11:00 am until 5:00 pm and Saturday evening 8:00 pm till midnight .The top notch German bands from the Kitchener-Waterloo area play endlessly at all three functions.
The concession booths include Canadian and German cuisine, such as sausages, schnitzel , Pretzels, Fish and delicate cheesecakes. A variety of souvenirs are available including, beer steins, T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, pins and other novelty items. Many beverages are available from Domestic and German beers to local wines , imported spirits, soft drinks and coffees are also available.
