The largest Oktoberfest east of Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario ,
takes place on the last weekend in September, each year with over 3,000 partygoers
traveling to Tatamagouche, to attend the North Shore Bavarian
Society Oktoberfest. The event will celebrate it's
33rd anniversary in 2012.
The event includes a Beer Garden on Saturday afternoon plus a dance on
Friday and Saturday evenings. Top
notch German bands play endlessly at the three
functions.
The concession booths include Canadian and German cuisine,
such as sausages, schnitzel, lobster roll and delicate cheesecakes.
A variety of souvenirs are available including, beer steins, T-shirts,
sweatshirts, hats, pins and other novelty items. Many
beverages are available from Domestic and German beers to
local wines and Imported spirits, and the infamous Schnapps
Bar, soft drinks and coffees are also available.
